Our school leaver children were lucky enough to visit Newhayes farm, with great thanks to Emma, Sam and Aimee from The Vending Shed Farm school.
The children had the opportunity to make biscuits, first making the butter from cream – they were very tasty when they ate them after their lunch. The children had a go at pressing the button on the machine to grind the grains of the wheat to make flour and explore the farm vehicle toys. This was followed by a tractor and trailer ride into the field of cows where the children could feed the cows. At the end of the trailer ride, the children went to visit a fantastic fruit and vegetable garden. We ended the day with going to feed the chickens and we counted how many eggs they had laid!
How lucky are we to live so close to the countryside and be able to explore such a wonderful farm!
